Caremart are running a much needed toe nail cutting service for older people in the East Lancs area initially Pendle.

The service will complement the existing service provided by the NHS Podiatry Service and will develop along the lines of a social enterprise model to ensure future sustainability.

Through our involvement with the East Lancs Partnership Board for Older People and the Pendle Seniors Group we have formed a partnership with  the Podiatry Service who will train the nail cutting assistants.

We have obtained funding from East Lancs PCT and have now sourced equipment, employed and trained personnel and found venues across the area to deliver the service.

The service is being provided at centre based clinics and also home visits can be arranged.

The service is for anyone who is

• A resident in Pendle
• Over 55
• Unable to cut their own toe nails
• Not receiving a toe nail cutting service from the NHS

The cost is £6.00 at the clinics and £9.00 for a home visit.
